Meteorologist Jane Bunn has cemented her future with Channel 7 inking a new three-year-deal with the network.
The reigning Queen of Moomba confirmed last week she quietly signed the new contract in December, describing it as being like an early Christmas present.
Bunn has been with Seven’s Melbourne news team since November 2014.
Bunn freely admits she took a leap of faith quitting her weather role at WIN News in June 2014 in the hope that something bigger was in her future.
“It was incredibly scary to walk away from one job without having somewhere to go and to actually turn that into the job of a lifetime was the best thing ever,” Bunn said.
Bunn’s advice for others looking to chase their dreams is: “Be brave.
“I had a lot of doubt when I walked away. I actually remember standing there thinking, ‘what am I going to do now?’,” she said.
“I got some work doing some odd jobs here and there and then Channel 7 came up and I was like, ‘Yes, yes please’.”
Bunn, who was at the Good Friday Appeal evening show with Edwina Bartholomew, said she was enjoying being part of 7’s Melbourne lifestyle program, The Great Weekend.
“I have done a couple of episodes now and I am having such a great time doing it,” the avid foodie said.
“Essentially I just get to go out and eat the food. It is the most amazing thing ever.”
