Gossip Queen: Megan Gale farewells world of WAGS

MEGAN Gale has farewelled the glamorous world of AFL WAGS as her partner, Shaun Hampson, is among this year’s crop of retiring players.

THE world of AFL WAGS is considerably poorer after one of Melbourne’s most stylish women, Megan Gale, farewelled the glamorous clique.

Gale was at the Richmond Best and Fairest dinner at Crown last week where her partner, Shaun Hampson, was among the crop of retiring players.

While it was an emotional night, as is the closing of any chapter in life, Gale and Hampson celebrated the great friendships and opportunities they had during the ruckman’s five years at the club.

To be fair, Gale never really bought into the WAG cult, having a hugely successful career outside footy circles long before she met Hampson. And while she is retiring her WAG credentials, Gale is maintaining her affection for the Tigers.

“Thank you also for welcoming me and my little family into the fold for the past 5 years and giving @shampson_ the opportunity to play with such an amazing club, with the best culture and playing group he could have ever hoped to find,” she wrote on Instagram. “You are a truly special club & we’ll continue to wholeheartedly support you.”

The pair, parents to River, 4, and Rosie, 1, are part-owners of the terrific Ascot Food Store in Moonee Ponds. Take it from me, it is worth a visit for the coffee alone!
