Gold Logie winner Grant Denyer has told of the extreme measures he is taking in order to get back on air with Dancing with the Stars after a searingly painful back injury.
Denyer has missed the past three episodes of the Channel 10 celebrity dance-fest after tearing a disc in his lower back while staking some saplings on his farm last month with a mallet.
But he is determined to be back for tomorrow night’s show after a prolonged stay in hospital.

HOW AMANDA KELLER PUT HER LOGIES LOSS ASIDE
“In the script meetings, which can take hours, I am lying on the floor instead of sitting down,” Denyer said.
“I had an epidural injection with Cortisone and that has allowed me to stand upright.
“I am not going to take any stupid risks, but as they say, the show must go on. It (his back) is still in a really fragile state — really, really delicate.
“I am not allowed to bend over, I can’t sit. On Monday night I will be looking pretty ginger, pretty stiff. Certainly, there will be no fancy dance moves from me.”
Denyer said he did not know immediately that he had injured himself.
“It did not go straight away but within a period of 10 minutes it deteriorated so badly that I could not move and I almost could not get back to the house,” he said.
“It is like lightning bolts of pain shooting through your body to the point where it knocks your legs from underneath you and you can’t stand. Thankfully I have had some great hospital care.”
Denyer will reunite with Dancing co-host Amanda Keller, who is his tip for this year’s Gold Logie.
