Swan has revealed recently retired high-flying Hawk Josh Gibson tapped him for advice leading into this season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! Swan was runner-up on the show last season.
“I spoke to him about it before he went in,” Swan said.
“He did not tell me he was doing the show, just that he had been offered a place.
“I told him in the end, for all of them, if you are not yourself you are going to get found out. Two weeks is like three months in there.
“You cannot be on (acting) 24 hours a day for six weeks. It is impossible.
“You have to be yourself, whether you are an arsehole, whether you are the kindest person in the world, whether you are the funniest, or cry all the time, or laugh, whatever it is you just have to go in there and be yourself because people will see through you if you don’t.”
Gibson has been a standout on the show, thanks in part to his team-building skills, daily rock workouts, and his dogged determination to wear a shirt as little as possible.
“They have obviously lost his bags in transit,” Swan observed.
“It wasn’t like that for me. They (producers) gave me heaps of shirts. They told me to wear a hoodie all the time.”
