Channel 7’s quiz show guru Andrew O’Keefe will return from his emotional exhaustion break next month.
O’Keefe, 47, took an extended leave of absence from Seven’s hit series, The Chase, in early April to deal with personal issues, emotional exhaustion and health issues.
No date was put on his return, however, now after weeks away from the spotlight, O’Keefe has signalled he is ready to get back into the production groove.
He is set to commence filming new episodes of The Chase — which will be a series of celebrity challenges — in the first week of June in Melbourne.
Seven will have no shortage of stars and local sporting identities keen to test their general knowledge on the hugely popular quiz.
It is unknown yet when the celebrity episodes will screen.
O’Keefe spoke in December about navigating life post his marriage breakdown.
“I spent 25 years building a certain emotional castle, and creating all of the things that we like to think we are going to achieve in life, and at the age of 47 I feel like I am starting all over again.”
Last month, his manager Mark Klemens confirmed O’Keefe was taking a break “to regroup and work through some personal issues”.
“Over the past year or so AO’K has had to come to terms with his marriage breakdown among a range of other issues,” he said.
“He is emotionally exhausted, to say the least, and needs this break.

“He is also determined to deal with these issues and is committed to getting back on track as soon as he can.
“He is looking forward to full health and hopefully being back in the studio in a couple of weeks.”
