Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gillies says it’s her time to shine

Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gillies believes in vision boards and the power of the universe, and while the psychic medium is a target for critics, she says the key to a happy life is to “get rid of the drainers”.

Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gillies says the key to a happy life is to “get rid of the drainers”.

Gillies, 38, believes in vision boards and the power of the universe but says it all boils down to making changes for the better.

“I am a manifester. I believe your thoughts create your experiences,” she said. “I have been doing vision boards since the age of 17 and everything on my vision boards to this day I have.

“You have to take responsibility for what is not working in your life and make changes for the better, you have to focus on the positives in your life and give gratitude, and you need to get rid of the drainers in your life. It is not hard to do.”

Gillies says her approach drew her and her husband, Silverchair drummer, Ben Gillies together. The key to their happy marriage is teamwork and no judgment.

“I wrote a list of everything I wanted in a relationship and I asked the universe to make him show up,” Gillies, one of Australia’s most popular professional psychic mediums, said.

“Everything I asked for Ben is it.

“I am so blessed to have a man that loves me unconditionally and who allows me to be who I am without conditions.

“When I was younger I did not think that existed.

“We are a team and when things are not working you have to sit down and talk through it; you have to communicate.

“When I started on Real Housewives of Melbourne my husband did not want to be on it. But

Ben came on that show to support me. Everything we do is a team effort and I just feel so blessed.”

Ben said the pair had “a real understanding of each other”.

“We always just support each other. We allow each other to be ourselves and there is no control or judgment,” he said.

Starting a family is now on the pair’s agenda, although Jackie admits it has taken years for her not to be scared of the idea of motherhood.

“I kept asking myself, ‘would I be a great mother, would I be able to give him or her enough’,” Jackie said.

“It was when I was in the jungle (filming I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!) I had my ‘a-ha’ moment.

“I do not want to miss out on experiencing the joy of being a mother.

“Ben and I are definitely trying.

“I am leaving it in God’s hands. I want to be a mother.”

Having spent years on the road touring with his band, Ben, 39, is now happy to take a back seat to support Jackie as she hits the road with her Shine It Up Live tour.

“I think this is what she has been put on this earth to do,” he said.

A target for critics, Jackie is not troubled by those who question her psychic abilities.

“Every human being has the right to their own opinion,” she said. “You should just keep an open heart and an open mind. There are people out there who don’t believe and that is OK.”
