GOLD Logie winner Grant Denyer has split with his long-time manager Titus Day, with
the surprise parting of ways having the potential to become a legal showdown.
Denyer and his wife Chezzi informed Day last week that they were both exiting his
6 Degrees management stable, with commission payments offered as the reason.
The decision blindsided Day, one of Australia’s top talent managers, who rebuilt Denyer’s career after he struggled with health issues, including a battle with prescription drugs, culminating in the versatile host’s emotional golden moment at this year’s Logie Awards.

When asked on Friday if he was still managing Denyer, Day (inset right) said: “Yes, I am. Does Grant want to leave? Yes.
“Did they call a meeting and suggest they want to move on? Yes. Do they have a contract with me? Yes. Am I going to let them leave? No.
“They have to honour their contract or at least honour the commissions that they owe me.”
Day said commissions — the 20 per cent fee paid to managers by clients — was the reason he was given for the split.
“Their reason was they don’t want to pay commissions anymore. (They said) we are doing some renovating, we don’t want to pay commissions,” Day said.
“I am shocked, I am devastated. I put eight years of work into these guys. I built their careers from zero up to the top of the game for both of them.
“Chezzi is one of the most prominent mum bloggers in the country now. Grant is at the top of the game in television and radio.”
It is believed that Channel 10 executives were informed on Friday that Day was no longer Denyer’s representative.
Chezzi’s Mummy Time website did not appear to be working yesterday.
Denyer is at a career high and has evolved into one of Channel 10’s most valuable properties. He is hosting the reboot of Dancing With The Stars alongside Amanda Keller, Celebrity Name Game and Game of Games for the network.
His 2Day FM Sydney breakfast radio contract, estimated to be worth in the ballpark of a million dollars a year, is up for renewal in December. He has become an increasingly important cog in that team following the departure of co-host Em Rusciano last week.
Day is currently locked in legal action with former client Guy Sebastian, also over the issue of commissions.
The Denyers didn’t respond before deadline.
