Former Collingwood and Carlton star Dale Thomas is conquering his fears in retirement.
Thomas, who will do some commentating work for Triple M and Channel 7 this season, has entered the jungle on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here with Billy Brownless.
“I’m not great with snakes and not great with confined spaces and historically I’m not great with reality TV,’’ Thomas said.
“You can’t run and hide from problems your whole life. And I don’t have a whole lot else going on.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity because my mates Dane Swan and Kris Smith have done it and said it’s life changing.”
Thomas’ charity is Camp Quality — a charity for which he attended an event last May and was suspended by the Blues after drinking.
“Hopefully this time I get some good publicity rather than take the shine off a good night,’’ he said.

“My life has been pretty well documented and I don’t have a lot to hide. I’m more than happy to share my stories if people want to hear them but hopefully I’m not the most interesting person in there.”
