Footy larrikin and one-time Collingwood “rat pack” member Dale “Daisy” Thomas is rumoured to have been recruited by Channel 10 for an extreme jungle adventure.
Thomas is tipped to be the “footy legend” and “one of the biggest characters the game has seen” being touted as the retired footballer joining the new season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!
Thomas, who called time on his playing days with Carlton in September, has proved to be something of a headline magnet over his career.
He was disciplined by Carlton, copping a one-week ban in May after he got on the booze at a charity function two days before a game.
Interestingly, Thomas was a guest at the Channel 10 marquee during Cup Week.
Life after footy will surely involve media for Thomas and a stint in the jungle could test audience interest in him.
There is also no question that 10 knows the value of AFL players to their reality TV offerings.
Channel 10 was noncommittal when approached about the Thomas rumour.
“We welcome speculation about the cast of I’m A Celeb, that’s all part of the fun. You’ll have to tune in to see the big names. Keep guessing.”
The Living Room’s popular foodie, Miguel Maestre, is so far the only star confirmed for I’m A Celebrity 2020.
Others rumours to be involved are Rhonda Burchmore and Lindsay Lohan.
I’m A Celebrity kicks off on January 5 on Ten.
