Curtis Stone is a pro in the kitchen but it’s a different type of heat when he’s standing at the altar.
The decorated chef has turned celebrant at the Royal Botanic Gardens to marry his long-time publicist Tiffany Farrington in a surprise wedding before 130 guests.
“What an idyllic place to get married,’’ Stone said.
“I got a little stage fright as I started to say we are gathered here today. It wasn’t that holy because Tiff wasn’t in a white dress but she didn’t get a proper wedding. It was quite hilarious, a beautiful day.”
Stone was hosting the launch of the partnership between Curtis Stone Events and the Royal Botanic Gardens on Thursday.
The party then moved on to his events space, Grace, in Richmond for the makeshift wedding reception.
During Covid before 10 people she married her partner of five years Richard Buttrose, who starred on SAS Australia and is the nephew of ABC boss Ita Buttrose.
“We got married in September by the pool at my husband’s house,’’ Farrington said.
“Curtis said I’m going to marry you, I didn’t have a clue. One of the events people shoved flowers in my hand and (voice of Wheel of Fortune) John Deeks said, ‘well you’ll need someone to walk you down the aisle’.
“I lost my dad a few years ago so that was particularly poignant.”
In true Melbourne style the wedding party kicked on at Crown Casino.
