Footy larrikin Warwick Capper has challenged his one time friend Ricky Nixon to a charity fight.
Capper wants the now estranged pair to get in the boxing ring for three rounds with money raised going to a good cause.
The call comes after Nixon had a physical altercation with Sam Newman last week over a fee for a speaker’s gig. After the scrap, Nixon claimed neither Newman or Capper could fight.
“(Newman) didn’t punch me, I think he slapped me in the face,” Nixon said of Newman.
“I also learnt something from it, both he and Warwick Capper can’t fight so they need to stick to what they do best.”
Capper and Nixon fell out and traded barbs over plans to celebrate their 60th birthday together — they ended up having separate parties within a week of each other in July.
Now Capper wants to settle things in the boxing ring.
“I’ll have Sam Newman in my corner and we’ll see who can’t fight,’’ Capper said.
“Red face Nixon ripped off Sam and then criticises me — weak.”
Nixon said Newman slapped him in the face after a gig at the Somerville Cricket Club on Friday.
The controversial former player agent said it was a misunderstanding over the $3000 fee and their disagreement escalated, but Nixon said he and Newman are still friends.
