Former AFL agent Ricky Nixon is getting his own back on Warwick Capper, who declined an offer to share the spotlight for their 60th birthdays.
After being rejected by Capper, Nixon will now host a solo bash a week earlier than the former Sydney Swans high-flyer — at the same venue.
Nixon will stage his party on July 8 at the Pier Hotel in Port Melbourne while Capper’s is a week later on July 15.
Nixon says his party will have a host of big names including Wayne Carey, Anthony Koutoufides, Greg Williams, Sam Newman and Dane Swan.
But Capper says his lavish party will be bigger.
“His birthday was four months ago … no one will come — his Mrs is coming to mine not his,’’ Capper said.
Last month, Nixon hit back at Capper after the former star forward rejected his approach to host a joint 60th.
“My 60th will now be my own party with my own friends and family after someone’s idea of a joint party involved pics of him everywhere, and red and white balloons,” Nixon fumed on Facebook.
Nixon added: “80 per cent of invites from him and all about him, him, him. Fair to say my friends are all sick of this selfish p--- and his b-shit, so are most people in the footy world I speak to, and none of them are going to his ‘look at me, look at me’ party.”
Nixon’s outburst came after he posted a picture with Capper on social media saying there had been a planning meeting for “Wizzy & Chicken’s combined 60th Party of the Century”.
But Capper says Nixon, who turned 60 in April, has enough of his own mates.
Capper wants the limelight all to himself at the July party with the legendary larrikin engaging Shannon Noll, Boom Crash Opera, Taxiride and Brian Mannix to perform and promised he’ll get up on stage too — wearing nothing but a pink leopard skin outfit.
Friends on his invite list include Carey, Koutoufides, Newman and Matthew Richardson.
