Time On is your daily wrap-up of all the footy gossip and banter.

Melbourne star Angus Brayshaw and his fiance Danielle Frawley are late scratchings from the Brownlow Medal on Monday night at Crown.

It comes after Brayshaw was knocked out two minutes into the qualifying final against Collingwood, after a collision with Brayden Maynard.

It has since been described as an emotional time for him, the club and his family, and he has yet to talk since the incident.

Danielle was set to wear a gown by Georgia Young Couture.

Their places on the Melbourne table have been taken by Jake Lever and his wife Jess.

Jack Viney and wife Charlotte will also be at the Melbourne table.

“I think the last two years Jack got suspended so we haven’t been since the one in the hub,’’ Charlotte said.

“There’s not too many events where you get to have a gown custom made for you. It’s also so good seeing what everyone else is wearing and seeing the vision of the stylist and designer come to life.”

Viney is being styled by Paul Versace from Styled by Bloom in a gown by Oglia-Loro Couture.

“I’m so lucky to have them, they’ve done an amazing job and each time I go to the Brownlow I get a little less nervous,’’ she said.

“(Viney’s teammate) Christian Petracca has a good chance to win so it’ll be exciting to see how the votes go.”

Channel 7 takes points in footy shows war

Channel 7’s new footy offering Talking Finals has dominated its timeslot nationally after three episodes.

The show hosted by James Brayshaw with panellists Joel Selwood, Trent Cotchin and Tim Watson, has averaged 131,000 nationally after three episodes.

For two weeks now it has gone up against Nine’s established Footy Classified for some of the time and has beaten it for viewers.

Footy Classified does however, air at midnight in Sydney and Brisbane. In its key market Melbourne it is still rating well.

Talking Finals had 20 per cent more audience than Footy Classified nationally this week.

Their special guests have included Darcy Moore and new Suns coach Damien Hardwick.

Gil, Pang kiss and make up

Sam Pang and Gillon McLachlan have kissed and made up — sort of.

The outgoing AFL CEO has cracked jokes at the comedian’s expense during his pre-game finals speeches. And both times Pang was in the Olympic Room to cop it.

He got his own back when McLachlan appeared alongside incoming CEO Andrew Dillon on The Front Bar on Thursday night.

“I need to clear the air, I’ve been mentioning you in dispatches the last couple of weeks and I know you’re flat about that,’’ McLachlan said.

“I got your text today, I know you’re flat about not being invited to my farewell so I want to sort this out.”

After some banter back and forth Pang got a hug and an invite to the shindig on Thursday night.

“I’ve been trying to have a private night, a quiet night, and you’ve been up there giving your speech and you’ve mentioned me both times,’’ Pang said.

“And I’ve got to be honest, I was a little bit disappointed and a little bit hurt.”

For the record McLachlan said Pang was the new Meatloaf — every time he’s mentioned he gets a laugh.

One more day in September for Delta?

Could Delta Goodrem be a late in for the grand final next Saturday?

The newly engaged pop star has two shows at Hamer Hall on Thursday and Friday night this week.

She wowed the MCG last year with her duet alongside Robbie Williams and was clearly a fan favourite.

Perhaps the national anthem could be hers with Kiss announced as the pre-game performers.

Mark Seymour & The Undertow, with special guest Kate Miller-Heidke, have also been announced for halftime.

Goodrem loves footy so could be attending anyway as a fan.

Legends lunch

More legends have been added to the line-up for the EJ Whitten Grand Final Legends lunch.

Hosted by Luke Darcy, the event on Thursday raising funds for RULE prostate cancer, will feature a panel of stars — Tom Hawkins, Simon Black, Libby Birch, Gavin Wanganeen, Max Gawn, Tony Shaw and Ross Lyon.

Singer Kate Ceberano is performing and Campbell Brown will be running on a treadmill throughout the lunch to raise more funds.
