'So much love in the air': Delta Goodrem's gorgeous announcement

Delta and Matthew Copley have been together for six years, and the usually low-profile, private couple broke form to share life-changing news. 

Delta Goodrem is engaged!

"My best friend asked me to marry him," the happy singer shared on Instagram, captioning a photo of herself and Matthew Copley kissing with a Malta seaside city-scape in the background. 

The next slide is a video of the engagement scene - white rose petals strewn on the grass, a string quartet playing in the corner, and Delta's hand sporting a beautiful ring.

Matthew replied to the post with a sweet message. "My forever love!" he wrote. 

Fans loved the news. 

"CONGRATULATIONS YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. I'm so happy for you both," one person wrote.

"Congratulations angel! You deserve all the happiness in the universe! So happy for you both," wrote another.

"This is the absolute best! Two hearts made for each other!" wrote a third person.

Delta Goodrem is engaged

Delta and Matthew have been together for six years and are typically private about their relationship.

"I made a choice that I'm not even going to comment 'yes' or 'no'... I've said nothing for three or four years," the 38-year-old said of the relationship in a 2018 interview with InStyle.

In the interview she did share how she and Matthew met and how she felt about him.

“He’s my guitarist, I met him through music.

“It’s incredible to be on stage with him because he’s so talented. We really are a team. He’s my best friend, he’s kind and just a beautiful human being.

“I’m very lucky. It’s all very natural and I think that comes from a beautiful respect and love. I feel so grateful.”

Earlier this year, Delta dedicated a post to Matthew on his birthday. 

"Another year around the sun!! On tour, on your birthday," she captioned a series of photos of the couple together. 

"Happy birthday to my best friend and favourite human in the whole wide world. My world @matthe.copley. I love you!" she added. 

Matthew had been supporting Delta on her Inncent Eyes and Hearts of the Run tours in 2023, and Delta shared photos of backstage moments and the pair on stage dancing.  

Matthew responded to the post with a lovely comment. "You're the 🍏 in my eye 👁️😍❤️❤️❤️❤️," he wrote.
