A new romance made its debut while toasting the sizzling opening of Sooshi Mango’s new Lygon St restaurant, Johnny, Vince and Sam’s, on Tuesday night.

Neighbours star Charlotte Chimes and Geelong premiership defender Jed Bews stepped out together after forming a connection via exclusive dating app Raya.

“This is our second date so it’s early days but it’s going well,” Bews said.

Chimes, who played Nicolette Stone on Ramsay St, said it was a good time to explore new opportunities.

She has returned to Melbourne from Europe but hasn’t rejoined the soap which has been revived by Network 10 and Amazon Freevee.

“The reason I didn’t go back is I realised I’d be in a years time in the same position wanting to propel my career,” she said.

“As much as I loved it I was just ready to move on.

“I’ve been auditioning and also producing, pitching a feature film to Netflix.

“I just auditioned for Outlander as well.”

Also at the star-studded launch of the impressive Carlton ristorante, were the likes of footballers Mason Cox, Max Gawn, Christian Petracca and Jack Crisp.

The restaurant impressed with its food and in reflecting nonna’s house, with the trio of comedy stars — brothers Joe and Carlo Salanitri, and Andrew Manfre — thrilling the crowd by transforming into their ethnic alter ego dad characters who inspired the venue.

“We’re not taking bookings, we’ve had walk ins for the first few weeks and we officially open Thursday,” Carlo said.

“We are very happy with how it’s turned out. It’s so rich in heritage, we’re excited to bring this to life.”

A band was also in place with plenty of Italian singing and dancing.

Other guests included Lord Mayor Sally Capp, Mark Mitchell, Ash Williams, Archie Thompson, Caty Price and Brad Green, Bridgett and Bianca Roccisano, Olivia Rogers and Morgan Waterhouse, Troy Kinne, Byron Cooke, Zana Pali, Ang Christou, David Zaharakis and Amy Pejkovic, Domenica Calarco and Ella May Ding, Daria Varlamova, Jo Hall and Pallavi Sharda.
