Max Gawn shows off newborn bub

Melbourne captain Max Gawn and wife Jess have received an early Christmas present this year – the safe arrival of their second bub.

Max and Jess Gawn have welcomed their second son, Louis Lyle Gawn.

Melbourne captain Max Gawn and wife Jess have welcomed another baby boy.

The couple showed off their newborn, Louis Lyle Gawn, on Tuesday, a brother for George who was born just weeks after the Demons won the premiership in 2021.

George and Louis are also the names of royalty — the sons of Prince William and wife Kate.

Max posted adorable pictures of George meeting Louis, along with his mum.

Gawn previously told the Herald Sun he was excited to welcome his son around Christmas Day.

George was born around the time of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“We might try and push it a bit earlier if we can,’’ Gawn said.

“George shares his birthday with Derby Day so unfortunately he won’t see his dad very often.”

Max married physiotherapist Jess on New Year’s Day in 2020 on the Mornington Peninsula and the family has been living in Blairgowrie.

He said before George was born that he was ready for fatherhood.

“It’s very exciting. I’m feeling OK, everyone’s warning you that it’s going to change your life but I’m pretty confident I’m going to stay the same person,’’ he said.

“I speak about being nervous and excited, but the joy comes from when I see him or her.

“We’re not sure what sex the baby is, but I think the joy that’s going to come, once it happens, is going to be better than the joy from the premiership. Or people tell me.”
