Jane Bunn has spoken of her sadness at being axed by 3AW.

The popular Channel 7 meteorologist was suddenly taken off air by the radio station, which is owned by Nine, in January.

Fans were left devastated after the much-respected Bunn, who presented weather forecasts and updates on 3AW’s breakfast show, was gone after five years.

“It was interesting, it was a big part of my life for such a very long time so I felt like I got to know them all really well and all of a sudden it was taken away,’’ Bunn said.

“Just the suddenness of it, which is what this industry is about, was the bit that was just like, ‘OK, we’re done’.

“I do miss being able to share the weather in the morning. The political landscape we live in, these things happen.

“I am still absolutely loving it.”

3AW said it was a business decision, with Bunn taking to Twitter at the time to express her disappointment.

Bunn has been enjoying Melbourne’s social scene this week, attending the Virgin Australia Fashion Festival on Tuesday night and the Grand Prix’s Glamour on the Grid party Wednesday night.

“The fact I got to do the weather here (at VAMFF) and then watch the show … I love it when I see things I can actually wear on the news,’’ she said.
