Former high profile AFL figure Ricky Nixon has staged his 60th birthday celebrations without retaliation from feuding birthday boy Warwick Capper.
Ex player agent and manager Nixon threw a landmark birthday bash on Saturday at Port Melbourne’s Pier Hotel with VIP guests including AFL legend Wayne Carey, broadcaster Sam Newman, and aerobics queen Sue Stanley.
Nixon’s fiancee Melissa Huynh was also at the event.
Nixon, whose nickname is Chicken, posted on socials ahead of the party: “As they bounce the ball to commence Chicken’s 60th ….Yyyaaabbbbbblllleeetttt!”
Nixon told the Herald Sun the party was “absolutely amazing” and “everyone had the best of times”.
He added: “The dancefloor was packed, and Sam Newman and Wayne Carey had the crowd in stitches.”
It is unclear whether Nixon was referring to Carey and Newman’s dance moves.
His birthday came amid a backdrop of bickering and animosity with former Sydney Swans star Capper.
Capper and Nixon were briefly locked in a silly feud over who would have the best 60th.
After Capper said he didn’t want a joint party with the former footy manager, Nixon went solo and threw his bash a week before Capper.
Capper will stage his 60th at the same venue next Saturday.
His guest list also includes Carey and Newman, and singers Shannon Noll and Brian Mannix.
Late last week, the squabbling sexagenarians had cooled their feud.
“I don’t want to compete,’’ Capper said.
“Good luck to him.”
