Darcy Parish and wife Grace welcome baby son Tommy

Essendon star Darcy Parish and wife Grace have shared their excitement as their “beautiful son decided to grace us with his presence earlier than expected”.

Essendon star Darcy Parish and wife Grace have become parents after safely welcoming their first child.

The popular couple announced son Tommy was born on Saturday.

“Our beautiful son decided to grace us with his presence earlier than expected and we are totally smitten!” the couple wrote on social media.

“Welcome to this big wide world Tommy Leo Parish, you are perfect to us in every way.”

Grace and Darcy, who married in January last year in Geelong, have documented their journey to parenthood with joy.

During their mid year break up north Grace posed for beautiful beach pictures.

“Just when you think you couldn’t love someone more, you find a way to fall harder,’’ Grace wrote.

“It’s just been you and I enjoying life together for the past 9 years and selfishly I’ve loved having you all to myself. But I have a feeling that this next chapter will be our best one yet and I simply can’t wait to see you become a dad and tackle parenthood together.”

Grace added that she had dreamt of these moments.

“Whenever you’re ready our love, mum & dad can’t wait to meet you!’’

Darcy is currently injured and out of the Bombers’ midfield. His teammate Kyle Langford is also expecting his first child with fiance Lulu Scott-Young.
