Wayne Carey reveals new nickname is ‘Toilet Duck’ as Ben Fordham shares theory on viral Toorak Cellars video

AFL great Wayne Carey has told of how his alleged Toorak Cellars toilet tryst has given him the new nickname of “Toilet Duck”, as radio host Ben Fordham put up a crazy theory on the incident.

North Melbourne footy great Wayne Carey has spoken out at a footy fan forum about the viral video of his alleged toilet tryst.

Speaking at Hotel 520 in Tarneit on Wednesday night, Carey made light of the video of him following a woman out of the bathroom at Toorak Cellars in Armadale.

When asked by Seven commentator Brian Taylor what he’d been up this week, Carey joked: “Bugger all BT, another quiet week.”

But he asked that nobody follow him to the loos.

“If I go to the toilet tonight, please no one follow,” Carey said. “I’ve got a new nickname, Toilet Duck.”

It comes after a wild theory was floated about his alleged viral tryst video.

Sydney radio host Ben Fordham facetiously wondered if the footy great had saved the life of Melbourne executive Kate Aston because “she might have been choking on a prawn or an oyster that she had in the restaurant”.

Carey has outed himself as the man filmed at Toorak Cellars, after he exited shortly after Melbourne executive Kate Aston left the bathroom.

Carey and Sam Newman spoke at length about the situation on their podcast last week.

He vented about the breach of privacy and “slut shaming” by those who filmed and gossiped about him emerging roughly 20 seconds after Ms Aston from the bathroom.

Carey declined to discuss it again on Newman’s podcast on Wednesday, but Newman was quizzed by regular guest Fordham about why he didn’t directly ask Carey if he was in the toilet with Aston.

Sources have told the Herald Sun that the scenes at the bar last Friday about 5pm were “unbelievable”. “It wasn’t subtle. It was guttural. And it went on for a while. Loads of people went to have a closer listen because they couldn’t believe it,’’ the source said.

Ms Aston told the Herald Sun it was a “deliberate act of bullying” and she was consulting with lawyers.

Fordham said: “The Duck might have rushed in there and given her the Heimlich manoeuvre. And he might have been pumping and thrusting to remove the prawn or the obstruction or whatever it might have been. He might have saved a life.”

Newman confirmed Carey didn’t want to raise the situation again.

“He was very sheepish about talking about it today so I said well don’t worry we’ll all be talking to the Doc (Fordham) about it because he was fascinated by it.”

Fordham continued that he listened to Carey being angry and upset, but “one thing I couldn’t work out, was he in the dunny with the girl or not?”

Newman said he asked Carey before they recorded if there was any truth to the innuendo.

“I said, I’d like to ask you, did you know the girl before you went down to the latrines, and were you in the same, not the same cubicle, were you in the same enclosure and speak to her there? He said, no. I said, good, well, that’s good,’’ Newman said.

“She was there, she walked out. He said, ‘when I walked out, I was on the phone, he said, I was on the phone to my partner, Jess’. And I said, good. It looked as though he said there was absolutely nothing in it. The girl has said there was nothing in it, so he’s taking umbrage at being accused of being a home breaker.”

Fordham continued: “If that’s the case, I can understand why he’s filthy, but I just couldn’t, I was waiting for you to ask him the question on the podcast, and I don’t know whether you just didn’t want to become roadkill because he was on a bit of a mission at the time … but that’s what I wanted to know. Only because he spoke about it for so long and he was going into so much detail. Did you happen to step into the same cubicle or not?”
