Essendon midfielder Darcy Parish married his long-time love Grace Stanton in a beautiful and sentimental wedding on Saturday.
The couple tied the knot at Mount Duneed Estate in Geelong, just 20 minutes away from where Parish grew up on his family farm.
Before 197 guests and a bridal party with three groomsmen and three bridesmaids, the newlyweds exchanged vows.
Ahead of the day Stanton said: “We are so excited.”
“We have been together for eight years and couldn’t be more ready to embark on this next chapter.
“We see it as one big party with all our favourite people. I’m feeling the anticipation of walking down the aisle, but I know by my dad’s side and as soon as I see Darcy, I’ll be ecstatic.
“We are saying our own personal vows to one another which I’m looking forward to. Hearing what Darcy has to say will no doubt make me feel emotional.”
Stanton, a business entrepreneur, wore a stunning gown by Jane Hill Bridal with hair by Georgia Freedman, make up by Cosmetique and the men wore suits by Samuel Diamond Tailors.
The couple got engaged in September while on holiday in Fiji.
She said the venue was perfect, with Main Entertainment, video by High Up Films and photos by Lou Lou Memphis Weddings.
“We didn’t want the stress of having to outsource and we are so blessed they have everything we need and more in the one spot,” she said.
“They have a huge dance floor and the space to make it your own which sold us.
“I have my sister in law as my maid of honour, Chantelle; my best friend Eliza and cousin Brooke.
“Darcy has (Bombers teammate) Andrew McGrath as his best man, my brother (his brother in law) Tanner, and his youngest brother Indy. Indy will be the ring bearer, Andy and Chantelle will sign the papers and will do a speech for the reception.
“We aren’t honeymooning until the end of this year due to football, however, we do get two nights away in a love bubble after the wedding and we are staying at a private property called The Wensley.”
