Grant Denyer has come out all guns blazing after his recent back injury, recording 12 episodes of his new show, Celebrity Name Game, in two days last week.
Denyer tore a disc while working on his farm, forcing him to take a break from co-hosting Dancing with the Stars.
The Gold Logie winner returned for the last two episodes of Channel 10’s dance show but now says that was a foolish decision.

DANCING WITH THE STARS TO BE WITHOUT ITS STAR
TAKING BIG STEPS TO GET BACK ON AIR
“My back is pretty good now. I’ve returned to full duties,” he said.
“Unfortunately, I really tore it (disc) quite badly.
“It happened in the middle of Dancing with the Stars but I wanted to get up and finish what I started so I tried to cheat the clock and got some cortisone injections to be able to stand up and do the last two episodes.
“I was in an enormous amount of pain. It was way too early in the injury to be doing that but I felt I owed it to (co-host) Amanda (Keller) and owed it to the show and Ten to bring it home.”
Celebrity Name Game, created by Courteney Cox and David Arquette, is very Family Feud.
It involves ordinary Aussies being paired with celebrities to answer pop culture questions.
Ten axed Family Feud, hosted by Denyer, in May last year and replaced it with Pointless, which turned out to be a ratings disappointment.
“I’ve had a bit of luck in the 6pm timeslot before — if I was to go back, it had to be something that felt fun and played to my strengths,” Denyer said. “It is the next natural evolution of Family Feud. It is probably a bit looser. The top button has been undone on this game show, which is what I like.
“It is nice to have a couple of celebrities (each show) to play with. That takes some of the load off me. Plus, there are real Aussies who can win a bucket of cash. I’m really enjoying it.”
