The popular footy great told the Herald Sun: “It’s really new and a nice little friendship. We’re going all right and taking it slowly.”

Brownless has fended off banter about his personal life from his Triple M radio colleagues who revealed he had been seen on mystery dates.

The former Footy Show favourite has four children with ex-wife Nicky and it’s believed his new lady friend also has children.

He is still spending time between Melbourne and Geelong where he owns the Cremorne Hotel.

It’s also just been confirmed the Geelong legend will be a torch bearer for The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay over a stretch in Geelong next year.

“It’s all about the Australian spirit and the great Australian way of looking after your mates,’’ Brownless said.

Olympian Dr Jana Pittman, whose brother Ryan is a veteran, and Brendan Nelson are also confirmed as torch bearers.
