Big names record positive results in radio ratings survey

New KIIS FM breakfast host Lauren Phillips has made a positive impact in her first radio ratings survey, while Triple M’s Marty Sheargold also picked up slightly.
Phillips and co-host Jase Hawkins started on air together on August 9 with the program lifting from 4.6 to 4.8.
Sheargold who fell to 3.8 last survey rose to 4.1.
GOLD FM host Christian O’Connell was again the pick of the FM stations for the 11th consecutive survey, increasing his share to 9.4 per cent.
“In a very tough time it’s always a pleasure to be someone’s friend in the morning,’’ said British host O’Connell.
Nova’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny moved up to 7.1, FOX FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick dropped to 5.9 and Smooth FM’s Jennifer Hansen and Mike Perso also dropped to 4.4.
3AW’s Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft were well in front in breakfast, rising by three per cent to 23.8. ABC’s Sammy J fell 1.4 to 14.6.
In the drive slot Triple M’s Mick Molloy gained 0.5 (6.3), as did FOX FM’s Carrie and Tommy (8.6), but Nova’s Kate, Tim and Joel dropped 0.7 (6.7). 3AW’s Tom Elliott posted the highest rise of 3.6 (15.3).
In mornings 3AW’s Neil Mitchell recorded big growth from 17.3 to 20.7.
SEN gained listeners, Mornings with Gerard Whateley went up the most from 2.9 to 4.1.
Garry Lyon and Tim Watson in breakfast went up 0.9 to 3.8.
GOLD FM was the No.1 FM station, coinciding with celebrations for its 30 years, while 3AW was the clear leader for overall listeners.
Survey No. 6 was delayed by one week because of Covid, with Sydney and Melbourne in lockdown during the entire survey period.
