Dane Swan has urged people to get vaccinated so the country can return to normal life.

The Collingwood champion said he hates being stucks inside like a prisoner and urged others, who put far worse things ‘in their body at 3am’, to get the jab.

“Yep I just got vaccinated, why? Cause I hate being stuck behind my front door being treated like a prisoner in the state I live in.

“And whether we like it or not the only way we are ever gonna be treated like humans again and live a normal life is by all being vaccinated.”

Swan, who has a newborn son Tate with partner Taylor Wilson, said people should also do it for the kids who are suffering.

“So while we all whinge and complain about being locked down let’s just all go and get the jab so we can get back to being free and living normal lives,’’ he wrote.

“And if that still isn’t good enough do it for all kids who haven’t been able (to) learn, play, interact with other children. It’s hurting them the most.

“And if that’s not good enough well summer is coming and who doesn’t wanna have a beer in a pub with all their mates then.

“And let’s face it, most of the people who won’t get it have put worse in their body at 3am in a cubicle or dance floor somewhere so the quicker we all do it the quicker we can move on with all our lives and get back to those dance floors.

“Now I’m off to (the) couch to eat ice cream for 24 hours.”

Swan has been critical of lockdown and the Andrews government, saying all our leaders should stand aside and give others a go.

He isn’t the only high profile figure encouraging vaccination this week.

Bec Judd also pleaded with people to get vaccinated amid the prospect of further lockdowns.

Her call came after other celebrities, including Isla Fisher, Megan Gale, Hamish Blake, Rebecca Harding and Julia Morris, all posted that they had received the vaccine.

“Please, please, please, get vaccinated so we can end these lockdowns (cos we know as soon as we get out of this one there will just be another one around the corner such is Delta),’’ Judd wrote.

“I am booked in. I cannot wait.”

Comedian Hamish Blake said: “To be honest, I feel immensely grateful to live in an age where super smart people are able to do incredible things like make a vaccine for something that has ground the world to a halt.”

Hollywood actor Fisher got the vaccine in Sydney and simply wrote “#vaxandrelax”.

Judd, 38, wasn’t the only footy figure taking to Instagram to ask people to do the right thing.

Charlotte Viney, wife of Melbourne star Jack Viney, begged others to follow restrictions.

“Please, PLEASE... do the right thing I am begging you,’’ Viney wrote.

“I miss this (being on holidays), I miss going to a busy restaurant, sitting in a packed cinema, Going to a fabulous wedding, I missing seeing friends, and seeing family.”

Viney said their daughter, Mila, who turned one last month, had yet to meet some friends and family.

“I want my friends to meet my daughter for the first time. I want my baby to smile when she sees people, not cry when someone with a mask comes near. I want businesses to be busy again, I want to travel the world again. This is exhaustinnnnng.

“Please do the right thing — Thank you to every single person playing their part in following restrictions. Sending my love because far out this s--t’s tough, and we are doing so amazing.”
