Young Talent Time’s 50th anniversary will be marked with a TV special.
To be hosted by Toni Pearen, the one hour show called Young Talent Time: Unmasked will air on Network 10.
“We have been talking with 10 since the Reunion Special streamed online, and the “powers that be” listened to all the fans who wanted to see something on free-to-air,’’ the YTT Facebook page posted.
“Stay tuned for the air date, but it shouldn’t be too far away.”
Ten said the show, which first premiered on April 21, 1971, had “earnt its place in our pop culture history”.
A statement to TV Tonight said: “Hosted by Toni Pearen, whose childhood dream was to be on the Team, the special will re-live all the giddy highs, the backstage drama and heartbreak, and celebrate the moments that turned its young stars into household names”.
The reunion was held as a pay per view special on May 1 in Sydney, and a performance took place at Adelaide Cabaret Festival in June. A national concert tour is planned for early 2022.
Host Johnny Young was joined by guests and former stars including Tina Arena and Dannii Minogue.
The Ten special is also set to include a reunion of Young and some of the show’s biggest names.
The YTT Facebook page put a call out for what fans would like to see on the show.
