Jodi Anasta has made the decision to leave Neighbours four years after she joined the soap in Melbourne.
Anasta said the time was right for new adventures, making it clear her departure had nothing to do with the time last June w hen she took a break because of exhaustion.
“They’re completely unrelated so it’s hard to talk about them in the same sentence,’’ she said. “For now I’m feeling amazing, I’m happier and healthier than ever, and for me it’s really about the new opportunities and new adventures.”
Anasta has been travelling between Melbourne and Sydney to co-parent her daughter Aleeia, 5, with ex-husband Braith Anasta.
The former Home and Away star said her Ramsay St character Elly had achieved all she could.
“Moving back to Sydney and being with my beautiful daughter, I’m just looking forward to spending more time with her,’’ Anasta said.
“I’m so grateful, it’s been the most incredible four years. Is there anything Elly hasn’t done? She’s been the most exciting, crazy and complex character. I’ve loved it.”
Anasta, 34, said she had nothing planned but wouldn’t leave Australia.
“It is not at the front of my mind,” she said of a possible move to Hollywood. “I definitely want to stay in Australia.

“I do look forward to auditioning again, it’ll be so much fun. I love working and I always keep myself really busy but the main thing for me is moving home and having more time with Aleeia as well.”
Anasta will keep working on the show for a few more months and has a key storyline for the show’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
“I’ve absolutely loved my time in Melbourne, I find it incredibly grounding,’’ she said. “It’s taught me a lot about food and what good food tastes like.”
