Channel 7 meteorologist Jane Bunn has hit a cold front with her weather bulletins on 3AW.

Bunn, who presented weather forecasts and updates on 3AW’s breakfast show, parted ways with the radio station, which is owned by Nine, earlier today.

A 3AW spokesperson told Confidential: “We thank Jane for her contribution to 3AW’s breakfast program.”

In a 2018 interview, Bunn said she did 3AW’s 7am and 8am bulletins from her Docklands home. “Yes, I’m in my trackies,” she laughed.

Bunn’s departure from 3AW comes amid sweeping changes at the station.

Australia Overnight co-hosts Tony Moclair and Bianca Johnston, who did the show from Melbourne, have been placed by Sydney broadcaster Michael McLaren.

Nine Radio, formerly Macquarie Media, also axed Nightline, helmed by Philip Brady and Simon Owens, after 30 years on air.

Popular presenters Dee De Dunleavy has been moved to 3AW afternoons, and Denis Walter to 3AW nights.

Alan Pearsall, who 3AW Weekend Overnight for 29 years, was sacked last year.

In a recent Facebook post, Moclair said he will continue to have a voice on 3AW.

“Thank you to everyone who’s checked in with me since the demise of my hosting gig on Australia Overnight,” Moclair said.

“I will continue at 3AW, presenting segments and filling in, as needed, on various shifts.

“This changed role allows me more time at home with (his wife) Kate and the kids while continuing to have a voice on a station that I love.”

After leaving the station, Pearsall told Confidential: “After 29 years, you make a lot of radio friends. Even though you don’t know them personally, you feel like you’ve become part of their lives, and in many ways too, they’ve become part of my life.

“The people who call into all-night radio are a friendly mob, and they’ve given me a lot of joy for many years.”

He added: “Networking is inevitable with radio. It’s happened in FM radio, they network all over the place. The ABC is network in the evenings through to breakfast.

“But I do believe Sydney and Melbourne are very different groups of radio listeners.”
