Cats captain Joel Selwood and his bride-to-be Brit Davis have recorded a wedding video ahead of their real nuptials this wekend.
They tied the knot, with tongues firmly in cheek, in a hilarious campaign for a Geelong travel agency.
The campaign, which drops today, precedes Selwood and Davis’s real wedding in Geelong on Saturday.
“Thanks for letting me be your best man, captain,” Stu Coffield, of Geelong Travel, tells Selwood at the altar.
Soon after, Coffield walks Davis, a special needs teacher and model, down the aisle.
A wide shot reveals Coffield standing next to Davis, who answers quietly: “It’s all part of the service.”
Then Coffield, who has suddenly become the wedding celebrant, takes the couple through their vows.
“Brit, do you take Joel to be your travel partner, to fly or cruise from this day forward, on long or short haul flights? Do you always promise to give Joel the aisle seat?”
Davis says solemnly: “I do.”
Coffield turns to Selwood: “Joel, do you promise to take Brit on six holidays a year, a coach tour, two trips to Las Vegas, and three European cruises?”
Coffield seals the deal by asking the couple to attend the Geelong Travel and Cruise World Expo, at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong, on February 2.
The campaign was filmed at a Geelong church last week, but Davis had to re-record her voiceovers because she lost her voice following her hen’s party celebrations.
Coffield told Confidential: “It was a pleasure to be Joel’s best man... to walk the gorgeous Brit down the aisle. We appreciate Joel and Brit having a bit of fun with us.
He added: “It’s important to have a laugh and not take yourself too seriously. I’m just not sure if I’m still invited to the actual wedding, though.”
The shoot was written and directed by Erin Oliver.
She said: “You could have said it was the rehearsal to the rehearsal before Joel and Brit’s big day. I’m sure the real wedding will be just as fun.”
Selwood had a Survivor-themed bucks celebration in December.
Attendees donned T-shirts labelled “Sel’s bucks send-off” in the same style as the show logo and Joel shared a snap with brother Scott Selwood, one of his groomsmen, in front of a helicopter saying, “Survived — fun day with the boys.”
