Gold Coast police are on the hunt for a pair of brazen thieves involved in two break and enters, using power tools to steal from an ATM.
Police said the two break ins at an Ashmore convenience store were believed to be linked.
A police statement said two men arrived at a Slayter Ave business on Sunday, March 20 at 1am in a stolen white 1998 Toyota HiLux.
They said they were able to enter the building by climbing on top of the roof.
Once they were inside they used power tools to force open an ATM removing a significant amount of cash before they fled through the roof and left in the HiLux.
Police said they found the HiLux the following day, burnt out near the Coombabah wetlands.
On Sunday, May 22, police believe the thieves struck again around 12.30am, when they entered the same convenience store by climbing through the roof.
They again used power tools to break into an ATM inside the store and took a large amount of cash.
The police statement said they found a Toyota Landcruiser which was stolen from Avi Court in Labrador, on fire at Liam Court, Labrador.
Police are urging anyone who saw either of the incidents, or have information which could assist in identifying those responsible to contact Policelink.
