An abandoned wheelie walker and lone shoe marked the spot near were a man was found dead next to a Gold Coast canal.
Emergency crews were called to Lakeside Drive, Emerald Lakes just before 5.30am on Wednesday morning after passers-by made the discovery.
The man’s body was found on rocks next to a pontoon in the canal.
A wheelie walker and a single black shoe were on the pontoon, a few metres from his body.
Police were investigating the incident which is not believed to be suspicious.
As detectives, a forensic officer and uniformed police examined the scene, joggers and walkers filed past on the nearby running track.
Kayakers and stand-up paddle boarders were also using the lake, with one veering close to the incident before moving away.
Forensic officers were seen taking photos of the scene.
Police are still determining the cause of death.
