Gold Coast crime: Man tasered after allegedly speeding at 200km/h in Bundall

A man has been tasered after being caught allegedly speeding at up to 200km/h in the middle of a busy Gold Coast street.

A man has been tasered after being caught allegedly speeding at up to 200km/h in the middle of a busy Gold Coast street.

Police were called to Bundall after a car was spotted fishtailing and speeding on Bundall Rd about 7.50pm on Sunday.

Police will allege the 34-year-old man was travelling at up to 200km/h

The car was followed to Cotlew St where the driver got out and started to flee towards a canal.

Police ordered the man to the ground but he allegedly kept advancing towards them.

Police will allege that is when the man was tasered.

The man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.

He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court at a later date.
