It’s also important to note that of the 13 names in the top 10 - four are women reflecting that the industry is slowly becoming more diverse.
20. EDIN KARA
Edin is far from your average real estate agent. Not only is his background in chemical engineering and finance, but he emigrated from Bosnia and Herzegovina to become one of the leading agents for The Sovereign Islands. The Ray White Sovereign Island agent’s sales include 5 King James Court for $2.165 million and 15 Westminster Court for $3.1 million.
19. BOB ROLLINGTON
Bob is a true veteran of the Gold Coast real estate scene with 35-plus years under his belt. He runs First National Real Estate - Surfers Paradise with his two sons Rob and Russell.
Bob and Russell recently put a Paradise Waters home under contract for $5.5 million following a Facetime inspection with a Victorian buyer.
18. JARED HODGE
Jared spent 11 years at the helm of the Ray White GC South real estate network, including commercial and residential offices, before founding REAL Specialists in April this year.
He says the new agency is to promote a “culture of collaboration” whre people are “inspired to deliver an unmatched real estate experience”.
17. TROY DOWKER
Southern real estate specialist Troy Dowker has carved out a very nice niche handling luxury property down south first with Ray White and now with Kollosche.
His recent deals include $5.05 million for a sprawling waterfront pad at Palm Beach done with colleague Rob Lamb.
16. SHANE COLQUHOUN
Shane is one of the leading figures in the LJ Hooker network. He is president of the LJ Hooker Franchise Owners Council and has represented franchise owners of southern Queensland since 2010.
On the Gold Coast he owns LJ Hooker Nerang and has ownership stakes in LJ Hooker Pacific Pines, Helensvale, Hope Island, Coomera and Ormeau. Review website RateMyAgent named LJ Hooker Nerang the No. 1 agent for Gold Coast-Tweed Heads in 2020.
15. DAN ALEXANDER
The principal and managing director LJ Hooker Palm Beach and LJ Hooker Coolangatta-Tweed has overseen steady growth for the agency he established with his father Bob in 2015.
Three years later they acquired LJ Hooker Coolangatta-Tweed Heads and last year the Palm Beach office was named one of the top 50 in the country in the Real Estate Business Awards.
14. ALI MIAN
The boss of one of the top Ray White groups in Queensland, Ali Mian has turned his head to development these days building riverfront marina homes at Paradise Point.
Ali, the brother of Amir Mian, has been in the industry for 16 years and has sold property worth more than $350 million.
His offices encompass Runaway Bay, Paradise Point, Sovereign Island and Pacific Point.
Ali has hosted grand parties on The Soveriegn Islands, where one of his offices is based, for years.
13. ROBERT GRAHAM
Robert has won a swag of awards in his 17-year plus career with Ray White Prestige Gold Coast and shows no sign of slowing down. One of the born-and-bred Gold Coaster’s recent sales was a beachfront apartment owned by rich lister Tony Quinn and sold for $5.5 million.
12. JACKSON PARADISE
Jackson is another top performer who is part of the Ray White Surfers Paradise stable.
The Ray White Prestige Gold Coast agent was raised on the Gold Coast and attended The Southport School with his parents owning a successful jewelry business.
Jackson nows sells another type of jewel - luxury homes. Recent listings include a lavish Gold Coast bungalow inspired by the famous Beverly Hills Hotel that changed hands for $4.75 million. Jackson was the marketing agent and it was sold by colleague Michael Willems.
11. MATT GATES
Matt’s 16-year career at Ray White Sanctuary Cove, part of the Ray White Surfers Paradise Group, has seen him sell many of the elite enclave’s most luxurious properties.
Matt is the son of deputy mayor Donna Gates and together with wife Chelsea - daughter of RWSP director Andrew Bell - forms one of the Coast’s power couples.
10. SALLY O’NEILL
UK-born Sally O’Neill has recorded more than $130 million in sales, selling across the Gold Coast including the suburbs of Helensvale, Hope Island, Parkwood, Arundel, Hollywell and Coomera Waters. The Harcourts Coastal agent, who works out of the Paradise Point office, covers the low to the high-end of the market with sales ranging from $350,000 to $1.4 million.
9. TOLEMY STEVENS
High-profile beachfront specialist Tolemy Stevens is another heavy-hitter who is part of the Harcourts Coastal roster. His recent sales include a two-level trophy penthouse in the Oracle for $3.95 million and a Broadbeach penthouse for $5.05 million.
During covid-19 a string of Tolemy’s sales came from Facetime inspections.
8 SAM GUO AND JULIA KUO
Coronavirus-related restrictions didn’t manage to slow dynamic duo Sam Guo and Julia Kuo from writing hefty commission fees month after month.
The pair, who work at Ray White CG Broadbeach, achieved a record sale for a single block in Clear Island Waters recently when 37 San Simeon Dve sold for $3.88 million.
7. KATRINA WALSH
When Dane Atherton was in the midst of recruiting top agents for his recently-established Harcourts Coastal agency, Katrina was one of the first he turned to.
A straight shooter with a contact book worthy of the best agents in the country, Katrina’s sales record, whether including a beachfront mansion or acreage retreat, is something truly to be admired.
6. LUCY COLE
Lucy deserves the utmost respect for 20 years in a fiercely-competitive and male-dominated industry.
In two decades she has carved out a reputation as one our top salespeople, indeed she has been named REIQ Salesperson of the Year three times.
Lucy enjoys strong support in the community and was narrowly defeated by Gary Baildon in her council tilt in 2016.
5. LUKE & ANDREW HENDERSON
Arguably no real estate agents know Mermaid Beach better or have given more to the community than the Hendersons.
Luke and Andrew’s father established John Henderson Professionals Mermaid Beach in 1972 and since then the family has donated more than $1 million to Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club, Nobby Beach Surf Life Saving Club and Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
Today Andrew is principal of the agency, while also holding the position of REIQ Gold Coast zone chairman, and Luke is director and auctioneer.
Luke is so well known in Mermaid Beach he is called the unoffical mayor of the suburb.
4. AMIR MIAN
Amir has gone through strength-to-strength since stepping out from the shadow of his highly successful brother Ali Mian and founding Amir Prestige.
This year his sale of Kool Kids founder Bruce Coulson’s home on the Isle of Capri for $27 million broke the record for a completed house in Queensland.
His other sales include Riverpoint on the Isle of Capri to Culture Kings founders Tahnee and Simon Beard for $11.75 million and then a $22.6 million sale to Bob Ell and wife Bridget at Mermaid Beach.
3. MICHAEL KOLLOSCHE
Michael Kollosche’s real estate journey must rank as one of the greatest comebacks ever. After disappearing from the selling scene for six years between 2010 and 2016, Kollosche returned to the throne as the No. 1 prestige property wheeler-dealer.
Kollosche was named at No. 31 in the Real Estate Business Top 100 Agents of 2020 after racking up sales in excess of $174 million. His deals include $25 million for former Billabong executive Scott Perrin’s Tidemark mansion in Mermaid Beach in 2016.
2. ANDREW & GREG BELL
The Bell brothers epitomise the ‘have a go’ spirit.
In 30-plus years they have consistently been leaders in the real estate industry with more than 35,000 properties sold and counting.
The brothers are the genuine stalwarts of the Gold Coast and can be always relied upon for fresh ideas when it comes to what is best for the Glitter Strip.
If that wasn’t enough, they have weathered a number of boom-and-bust real estate cycles and come out the other side stronger. They have also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Muscular Dystrophy Queensland through their annual charity ball.

In less than a decade, Harcourts Coastal managing director Dane Atherton together with his life and business partner Kym Atherton have built a highly-impressive sales team across three offices encompassing Broadbeach, Paradise Point and Robina.
Starting from a corner shop in Mermaid Beach in 2011, the agency has collected a multitude of awards including No. 1 auction office at the Harcourts annual state awards after just 10 months in operation.
The agency regularly scores the most prestigious luxury property listings on the Gold Coast and recently added a commercial property arm pointing towards further expansion on the horizon.
