Penthouse sale smashes QLD auction record

ALMOST a billion dollars in high-end sales were settled in June, as the Gold Coast’s blistering property market showed no sign of cooling.

There were 492 transactions of $1m or more between June 2 and July 1, totalling more than $920m, Queensland Government data reveals.

That’s about five times the 90 transactions of $1m or more settled in pre-Covid June 2019, when high-end sales totalled less than $200m.

Among the biggest sales settled last month were the Soul penthouse, which was purchased by a Gold Coast business identity for $15.25m, setting a Queensland auction record.
