Lismore realtor Jacob Glen Ford charged with child abuse offences
A Northern Rivers real estate agent is facing multiple child abuse charges over allegations he sexually touched a child and used an online platform to procure them for sexual activity.

A Northern Rivers real estate agent has been charged with allegedly abusing a child and using a carriage service to groom and procure a child for sex.
Jacob Glen Ford, 29, of Lismore, appeared before Magistrate Michael Dakin in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday for his first appearance.
He is charged with three counts of intentionally sexually touching a child between the age of 10 and 16.
Ford also faces charges of using a carriage service to procure a child for sexual activity, and using a carriage service to send indecent material to a child.
The court heard charges of using a carriage service to groom a child, grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity, and disseminating child abuse material are to be withdrawn.
An apprehended violence order was also brought against Ford by police on behalf of the victim, the court heard.
Defence counsel for Ford requested time for a case conference with the prosecution, as both new charges and fresh evidence had been filed on Monday.
“His next occasion in court will possibly be in the district court,” she said.
Ford also applied for a bail reporting variation which was granted with conditions he must report once a week to Nimbin Police station.
Ford must stay 100m from a residential Nimbin address, an area school, and stay 100m from the premises of a former employer.
Mr Dakin forbade him from making contact with any prosecution witness or victims by any means.
Ford must also surrender his firearms licence to the officer in charge at Lismore Police station within seven days.
Ford remains on strict conditional bail to reappear before Lismore Local Court on April 30.
