A $250 MILLION luxury high-rise tower is about to rise from the ground, with a construction crane joining the skyline over Hedges Ave.
Sunland Group’s flagship 45-storey tower will reach a new milestone this weekend when the crane is installed above Millionaire’s Row.
The crane will begin building the tower itself once excavation works are completed on the site in October.
“Early site works continue to advance, with foundation piling works completed and basement excavation now underway, during which time more than 30,000 cubic metres of earth will be removed, to a depth of approximately 18 metres,” the company said in a statement.
“This excavation phase is expected to be completed in late October 2019.
“We are also delighted to advise that procurement for the $5 million sculptural feature at the base of the tower has commenced.”
The tower, known as 272 Hedges Ave, will be completed in mid-2022.
The beachfront tower is located just moments from the retail and dining precincts of Broadbeach and Pacific Fair, and The Star Hotel and Casino.
Residents of the tower will have access to a dedicated concierge service, lounge, boardroom, function room, swimming pool, spa, gym, sauna, Turkish steam room, and treatment rooms.

The tower will be clad in shimmering reflective glass, is across the road from beachfront Pratten Park and is the developer’s first Gold Coast high-rise in more than decade.
It was first proposed in 2017 and was opposed by some Hedges Ave residents who said it was “outrageous”.
