FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze in a kitchen on the Gold Coast early on Tuesday morning, which will be probed by investigators.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) was called to the fire at a home on Emerald Island Dr at Carrara about 4.50am.
Two fire crews found a smouldering blaze in the kitchen had left the home “heavily smoke logged”.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and left the property about 5.40am, a spokeswoman said.
QFES was not able to provide information about the possible cause of the fire later on Tuesday morning. It will reportedly be investigated by authorities.
Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) also attended the Carrara fire.
No one was injured, but paramedics were on hand during the firefighting effort according to a QAS statement.
Teen’s crash leaves trail of destruction on suburban street
July 16: A teenage driver left a trail of destruction after he lost control of a car in Reedy Creek.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Sormano St about 7.15pm Thursday after a silver sedan hit a skip bin.
The force of the crash left the car suspended over the bin and sent rubbish and debris flying over the road.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the driver, a 17-year-old male from Mudgeeraba, was not injured.
No charges have been laid and the car was towed from the scene, she said.
Fireys tackle shed blaze at Coast property
GOLD Coast firefighters have doused a large fire at the rear of a Southport property, which ignited in a shed and spread to nearby vegetation.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) firefighting crews were called to a home on Lather St about 8.45pm on Tuesday.
They found the shed was “well alight” and worked to extinguish the fire in both the structure and the surrounding area, a QFES spokeswoman said.
The fire was out by about 9pm and firefighters spent about half an hour making sure the area was safe before leaving the property.
QFES was not able to say how the fire began.

Firefighters tackle blaze in Gold Coast unit
July 13: Firefighters who raced to a reported “structure fire” on the Gold Coast found the blaze was contained to a mattress.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews were called to a unit fire on Old Burleigh Rd at Broadbeach about 6.40pm on Monday.
Firefighters found a mattress on fire, but the fire had thankfully not spread.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and firefighters then ventilated the unit, a QFES spokeswoman said. They left the scene about 7.30am.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics were also called to the fire, but no one was injured.
Paramedics remained on standby, but were not required to assist.
QFES was not able to provide information about the cause of the fire.
M1 smash: Truck and car collide
July 12: Motorists travelling on the M1 this morning have been warned to proceed with caution after a truck and a car collided on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called to the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway (M1) at Oxenford about 9.20am.
An occupant of the car was “encapsulated” in the vehicle after the crash and unable to get out, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) spokeswoman said.

However, the occupant was freed by a QFES crew shortly after 9.30am.
A Gold Coast police spokeswoman said no lanes were blocked by the crash, but motorists were advised to proceed with caution.
Queensland Ambulance Service reported no one had been transported to hospital as of 9.35am.
Cyclist struck by vehicle on Coast
July 12: A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on the Gold Coast early on Monday morning.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics were called to Olsen Ave at Labrador about 5.50am.
A male patient of an undisclosed age was treated at the scene and taken to Gold Coast Private Hospital in a stable condition, suffering minor injuries.
Five injured from crash into light pole on Coast
July 9: Five people have been rushed to hospital following a car crashing into a light pole on the Gold Coast.
The single-vehicle incident occurred on Smith Street and Brooke Ave at 9.14am on Friday.
All five people were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions by paramedics.
It comes after crashes across the Gold Coast overnight left three people hospitalised.
A crash in Labrador between two vehicles at the intersection of Musgrave Ave and Kumbari Ave at 6.37pm on Thursday saw three people assessed at the scene by paramedics.
Two of them were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital by the paramedics.
They were both in stable conditions and suffered chest and back injuries.
The third person elected to transport themself to the Gold Coast University Hospital via private means.
Moments earlier a two-vehicle crash occurred at Oxenford on the Hope Island northbound exit from the M1 at 6.18pm.
One of the cars involved is reported to have hit a power pole.
One person was transported by paramedics in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Another person was also assessed however declined further transport.
Three cars in crash outside convention centre
July 8: Two people have been injured and a northbound lane closed after a three-vehicle crash on the Gold Coast Highway on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were called to the Broadbeach scene at 5.25pm.
The incident occurred outside the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Two people have suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Earlier
TWO children are among those injured after a car crash left one vehicle tumbling down a cliff on the Gold Coast.
The two-vehicle crash occurred on Thursday at 11.50am in Guanaba.
The incident saw one car go down a cliff edge on Mystery Rd.
Two children and one adult were transported in stable conditions to Gold Coast University Hospital.
It follows a spate of crashes across the Gold Coast that have hospitalised eight people.
At 8.48pm on Wednesday four people were taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Bundall.
The car crashed into a pole on Slatyer Ave and Poinciana Crescent.
Five people were assessed at the scene and four were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Paramedics, including Critical Care, and High Acuity Response Unit attended the crash but all four people were transported in stable conditions.

Later in the night two more people were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Abraham Rd in Upper Coomera.
One person with neck pain and another with chest pain were transported in stable conditions from the scene of the accident that occurred at 10pm.
On Thursday paramedics transported another two people to Gold Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash at Gaven.
Both were in stable conditions when transported from the scene at Banyula Dr and Castle Hill Dr at 10.29am.
