Gold Coast woman bitten by snake in backyard rushed to hospital

A Gold Coast woman has been rushed to hospital after a snake bit her in the back yard of her suburban Gold Coast home.

A GOLD Coast woman was rushed to hospital on Friday after suffering from a snake bite in her backyard.

The woman in her 60s was bitten on the hand at her residence in Pacific Pines and paramedics, including critical care, were on scene by 12.19pm.

The paramedics transported her to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Authorities said the incident was a reminder to Gold Coast residents that snakes are currently in the breeding season.
