Abdul-Mateen II will suit up in Manta’s unique battle-costume and trident for Aquaman, currently in production at Village Roadshow Studios.

Abdul-Mateen II takes a playful poke at Aquaman in a video posted on Instagram and captioned Breakfast at the Manta-Mansion.

“Ooh — it’s another day at the Manta Mansion and let me tell you something brother, I’m looking for Aquaman,” the sunglass wearing star says in a villainous voice as he dances around a kitchen.

“I got up in the morning and I’m eating my breakfast.

“I got my eggs, I got my avocado and I got just a little piece of toast brother.

“The only thing that’s missing is some Aquatuna to go on top of this Aqua-breakfast here.

“I’m gonna find you and I’m gonna gut you like a fish — ooh yeah brother,” he says.

In DC Comics, the Black Manta character wears a bulletproof battle-suit and jet pack with a telepathic scrambler and travels in vehicles including a modified, manta ray-shaped submarine.

His suit gives him powers that allow him to lift cars and throw them and to breathe underwater as he presides over an army of masked henchmen with underwater suits.

Abdul-Mateen II also appears in the upcoming Baywatch movie alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Zac Efron and in the cast of The Greatest Showman, Hugh Jackman’s upcoming musical about circus great P.T. Barnum.

Meanwhile, Chinese actor Ludi Lin, who recently starred as the Black Ranger in the Power Rangers reboot, has also joined the Aquaman cast as the superhero’s trusted ally, Murk, who leads the army charged with defending Atlantis.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman also stars Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison and young Aussie actor Otis Dhanji.

Aquaman is due for release in December 2018.
