Amber Heard tops Aquaman castmates and ex Johnny Depp in movie star rankings

AMBER Heard’s star is enjoying a meteoric rise as she begins filming her Aquaman role. Now she’s neck-in-neck with Gold Coast star Margot Robbie in a power list. Who comes out on top?

THIS time last year, Amber Heard had just left Australia after pleading guilty in a Southport court to falsifying quarantine documents.

The charge was laid after Heard brought her dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia when she joined her then husband Johnny Depp on the Coast while he filmed Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in 2015.

Fast forward to today, and the model turned Zombieland and The Rum Diary star is now back on the Coast to film a blockbuster of her own, Aquaman, with a new man by her side — billionaire tech magnate Elon Musk.

Heard’s star is enjoying a meteoric rise thanks to her role as mermaiden Mera, with the Texan enjoying top billing on the internet Movie Database’s (IMDB) Aquaman page.

Referenced by more than 250 million unique visitors each month, IMDB gives Hollywood’s movers and shakers ‘star rankings’ based on the fan activity they generate. As of yesterday, Heard was sitting pretty at No. 7 — one spot ahead of Coast actor Margie Robbie at No. 8.

Heard’s ranking, up 80 places from last week, puts her leagues ahead of ex-husband Depp, currently ranked No. 87, up seven places from last week.

Heard now tops the Aquaman cast list — ahead of the film’s star, Jason Momoa (No. 115, up five from last week) and Nicole Kidman (No. 185, down 79 places on last week).

Rounding out the Aquaman cast rankings are: Patrick Wilson at 647; Dolph Lundgren at 746; Temuera Morrison at 1574; Willem Dafoe at 1551; and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II at 4905.

The IMDB rankings list every person, title and company in the data base — more than three million film and TV titles and more than six million people — to give industry professionals insight into who and what’s popular.
