Famous having fun on the Gold Coast: Aquaman stars make most of big weekend on Glitter Strip

THE AQUAMAN cast are out in force enjoying everything the Gold Coast has to offer - here’s where they’ve been hanging out.

THE Gold Coast’s Aqua-stars in residence have been flying the flag for our reputation for fun in all its forms.

Pictures uploaded on Instagram show castmates Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Temuera Morrison all out and about enjoying the diverse range of activities served up on the Coast on the weekend — from football and a televised MMA fight to clubbing and karaoke.

The Broadbeach Tavern uploaded a picture of Momoa and castmates including Abdul-Mateen II and Morrison and constant companion Mada Abdelhamid sitting perched at the bar to watch the UFC 212 fight over a beer (in Momoa’s case, a Guinness) on Sunday.

Hawaiian fighter Max Holloway defeated Brazilian Jose Aldo in the UFC featherweight title fight.

MMA fan Momoa took to Instagram to congratulate Holloway (@blessedmma) after the fight, uploading a picture of the victor and captioning it: HAWAIIAN PRIDE. Love u congrats cuz @blessedmma Aloha j. #westside #waianae ALI’I. It’s all yours.

Momoa was also full of praise for another fellow Hawaiian, Yancy Medeiros, who defeated Erick Silva in his UFC 212 bout.

“MAKAHA boy. Chhhheeeeeeeehhhhhoooooooooo. @yancymedeiros congrats cuz. Hawaiian takeover,” Momoa captioned a pic of Medeiros uploaded on his Instagram page.

A frequent site out and about on the Coast since he began filming his role as Aquaman in March, Momoa has become a regular at the popular Cafe on Hedges on Hedges Avenue at Mermaid Beach.

Momoa posed for a photo with a staff member uploaded to the cafe’s Instagram page.

The picture was captioned: “Thanks for the photo share, we have a regular Celebrity in town, Jason Momoa who has been ordering from our Juice Bar daily #cafe #cafeonhedges #qld #goldcoast #juice #juicecleanse #jasonmomoa #aquaman #gameofthrones”

Staff told the Bulletin Momoa ordered a “green juice” — most likely the Green Reviver, a mix of apple, cucumber, celery and pear.

Abdul-Mateen II, Dafoe and Power Rangers star Ludi Lin, who plays Murk in the James-Wan directed Aquaman, were also photographed watching the Gold Coast Suns pip West Coast Eagles at Metricon Stadium on Saturday.

Heard also posted pictures of her big weekend — and the aftermath — on Instagram.

The actress shared a picture on Instagram of a red-wine-soaked seat captioned: The next morning.

Heard also uploaded a video of her and a group of friends performing karaoke.
