GOLD COAST vampires are fanging to open their coffin doors again but in the meantime want to thank the government for keeping them alive.
Those behind the famed Dracula’s cabaret and dinner theatre are working feverishly behind the scenes to prepare for its reopening on July 10.
Dracula’s lead performers Coco and Pandora said the show was back from the dead thanks to government JobKeeper payments.
“We are a great case study on why JobKeeper was incredible,” Coco said.
“We went months of being closed but we were able to keep everyone connected to the business and survive.
“I think the government did an exceptional job.”
Operations manager Luke Newman said the closure was an opportunity to enhance the business.

“Our entire cast and crew have been continually rehearsing and we have spruced up the castle in the downtime,” he said.
“We were running at record numbers until our forced closure and now it’s time to bring the audience back.”
Pandora said the show was “bigger and better” and had a revamped script that would “kick COVID in the a*”.
The horror and adult humour cabaret music hall has protected their famous skull with a 3.5 sqm face mask since early May but it will be officially “stripped off” on July 10.
Dracula’s box office reopened yesterday, taking bookings for 300 on Friday and Saturday nights.
Weekly kids party performances will remain closed until further notice.
