Teenager charged after 16-year-old stabbed during machete attack at Chifley house party

A teenager has been charged after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed during a violent group attack involving machetes at a house party in Sydney’s east last weekend.

A teenager has been charged over a violent group attack at a house party in Sydney’s eastern suburbs that left another teen with stab wounds.

Emergency services were called to Carnegie Court in Chifley shortly before 8.20pm on Saturday, following reports of a stabbing.

Police were told a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were standing at the front of the house when they were approached by around 10 people, with two of them allegedly armed with machetes.

The group allegedly attacked the younger teen, stabbing and assaulting him before fleeing the scene.

Paramedics treated the 16-year-old for lacerations to his back and legs before taking him to hospital in a stable condition.

Detectives launched an investigation under Strike Force Murdong, which led to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy on Thursday.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with five offences, including reckless wounding in company, participating in a criminal group and possessing a prohibited weapon. He also faces charges related to drug supply and intimidation.

The teen was refused bail and is due to appear before a children’s court on Friday.

The investigation continues into the incident and police are urging anyone with information, dashcam and or mobile phone footage in relation to contact Maroubra Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
