Revesby double murder: Underworld criminals now don’t care who they kill
In the past, women like Sallie-Anne Huckstepp and Lyn Woodward were murdered for daring to speak out. But there’s never been a gangland hit on women such as that which bloodied Sydney’s streets at the weekend, writes Mark Morri.

The underworld doesn't care who it kills and women are no exception when cowards are trying to protect their own self interest.
But never has there been a gangland hit of a female like we witnessed this weekend.
Gunning down women in public is unheard of, even the gangsters in Sydney are shocked.
“It’s like Mexico, there are no rules anymore’’ was a comment echoed by a number in the underworld.
“What, are kids next?” one said.
In the past, the women killed were more often the ones who dared to speak out.
Women like Sallie-Anne Huckstepp and Lyn Woodward – two brave people who were murdered in the 1980s as they exposed the links between Sydney’s criminal network and police corruption.
And there were others who we will never know about who have been murdered, gone missing or written off as overdoses and suicides without the truth ever being known.
Sydney has always had its wars and share of violence and always will.
But to slay a female in public, even one suspected of being linked to the underworld goes against so many rules of the so called code criminals profess to have.
Now it’s time to break another underworld rule – if you know who are killing women on the street give them up to the cops before they start killing our children as well.
