The Lone Wolf bike gang which Yusuf Nazlioglu was once a member of is going through a restructure after the death of its fearsome boss, Erkan “Eric the Wolf’’ Keskin in Turkey earlier this year.
Keskin, who is believed to be behind at least six contract killings in Sydney in the past ten years, was also a close associate of Comanchero boss Mark Buddle.
After Keskin’s death many of the Lone Wolf are reported to have patched over to the Comanchero, which caused friction between some members.
Nazlioglu was believed to be “freelancing’’ as a criminal and hadn’t rejoined the club he had been a member of before going to jail for weapons charges.
The Lone Wolf bikie gang, based in Arncliffe in Sydney inner south is a small but powerful club that grew in strength under Keskin.
Keskin was behind massive drug importations and made the Wolves one of the wealthiest outlaw motorcycle gangs in the country.
Keskin died from a heart attack in March this year after a six day drug bender.
His reputation to order and pay large amounts of money for professional executions made his group one of the most feared in Sydney’s underworld.
“There is a bit of squabbling going on around some of the importations that Eric was behind when he died. There are fights about who is going to take them, who gets what money because Keskin ruled everything. Now there are dramas,’’ said an underworld source.
Others said it was unlikely there would be any revenge for Nazlioglu’s death.
“He (Nazlioglu) wasn't very popular and even if people know who is behind it there probably not much chance they would avenge him,’’ he said.
It’s believed a recently released convicted killer who is well known in the southwest has taken control of the Wolves.
