Detectives investigating the shooting death of a drug dealer have charged a second man with the Salt Ash murder.

The man 26, of Raymond Terrace, was formally charged in Grafton on Friday, a week after an alleged accomplice was arrested at Raymond Terrace and later charged with murder.

Strike Force Breve investigators allege the two men were both at the scene of the alleged shotgun murder on Hideaway Place on the afternoon of August 29.

The man died at the scene after he was allegedly shot in the face at close range as he drove his Ford Ranger utility.

Police have repeatedly said the alleged murder was targeted.

A third man was also arrested on November 5.

Garvey was later charged with accessory after the fact to murder and accessory after the fact to kidnapping.

Police allege the three men briefly detained a woman, who was also at the Salt Ash crime scene but is not accused of any wrongdoing, before she was released.

Detectives travelled to Grafton on Friday where they spoke to a 26-year-old man before charging him with murder, kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.

He was also charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm, a count which allegedly relates to a shotgun found during a search warrant in September.

Police will allege that shotgun was the murder weapon.

More arrests are expected.
