They have taken all before them so far this season and Queanbeyan Roadrunners U16 girls would love nothing more than to finish the Southern NSW junior basketball season in style.
The Roadrunners face Moss Vale Magic in the semifinal at Belconnen Basketball Stadium on Saturday - and you can watch it on News Corp’s exclusive LIVE STREAM from 9am.
News Corp’s LIVE STREAMSwill show off some future stars of the game over a big weekend of finals action in the Under-18 and Under-16 Division 1 boys and girl’s competitions.
Roadrunners coach Mae Grant said Moss Vale “will definitely be the team to watch out for this weekend”.
“We’ve been lucky to be undefeated this season, but our last game against Moss Vale was very tight in some of the quarters,” she told News Corp.
“Finals is just about who turns up and who wants it more on the day. So it’s anyone’s game really.”
Grant, 23, said although none of her players were picked in this year’s state team, she is lucky to have standout talent among her Roadrunners.

“Rhiannon O’Brien, one of our shooting guards is only 14 but has been a very competitive player this year. She loves to hassle, plays really good defence and has found her shooting rhythm this year,” Grant said.
“Skye Adams, one of our tall girls, was lucky to progress through the NSW trials to one of the final stages. It’s been really good to design our plays around someone who’s so tall and can rebound under a basket.

“She’s actually from Cooma, so Skye and her family has put in a huge commitment to the team this year.
“And Katiah Tait is a reserve in the NSW team. She is very much an all-rounder, her defence and quick hands is something that I’m really grateful to have in my team.
“She can bring the ball up very well and can definitely score some baskets when you need her too.”
Grant, who also captains the Queanbeyan Yowies women’s team, said News Corp’s “livestream has been great for the competition this year.”
“It’s been really good as a coach to watch the games back to see what we need to build on and work on,” Grant said.
“We’ve enjoyed watching other teams that we don’t usually get to see until the big competitions.
“I also think the girls that are looking at that American college basketball level are loving that they’re being provided more professional opportunities like the livestreams for their exposure.”
