DANNY Green painted a perfect picture of serenity before arguably the biggest and perhaps last fight of his illustrious professional boxing career at Adelaide Oval next Friday.
The 43-year-old will take on his old rival Anthony Mundine in a bout tagged ‘The Man v The Machine’ 11 years after former NRL star Mundine won their only previous fight in a unanimous points decision at the Sydney Football Stadium.
But after hordes of fans took selfies with the Green Machine at Adelaide Airport, Green settled into his inner-city hotel surrounds on Thursday afternoon confident he can square the ledger.
“It’s good to be here,’’ Green said.
“I’ve been in Melbourne for nearly six weeks and it’s good to get out of Melbourne and get here in the hot weather.”
“I’m looking forward to going for a jog at the (Adelaide) oval, and having a look around there.
“The majority of the hard work is done, you just come here and put the final touches on the preparation — sharpen up.
“(The preparation) had been great. I feel great. I’m just excited, really excited.
“I think Adelaide Oval is going to be pumping, I think the city is starting to buzz a little bit in anticipation of the fight.
“Fight week next week is going to be a pretty big week, it’s good to be here.”
Perth-born Green and Mundine, 41, will fight for the first time in SA.
