THE DEALERS COPS CAUGHT IN THE ACT
SHANNON MACAULEY
Drugs mastermind Shannon Macauley was jailed for at least six years after police found his stash of cash and drugs in an Aldi bag in southwest Sydney bushland.
The 38-year-old was sentenced to 11 years jail for the commercial supply of cocaine and ice and will be eligible for parole in July 2023.
Judge Jennifer English was shocked Macauley continued to store drugs and cash in his Wilton family home, even after police had seized his stash, including $133,970 cash, 105g of ice and 380g of cocaine, from bushland in 2016.
The father-of-two told Campbelltown District Court during sentencing he knew detectives had found the stash, saying “I think the whole area did”.
Ms English said she found it “incredulous” that only nine months later, police arrived at his home to locate 730g of ice in his kitchen, and almost $150,000 cash around the house.
DYLAN SHAW
A gym junkie who started importing steroids and later sold a “smorgasbord of drugs” to undercover police will spend at least four years behind bars for commercial drug supply.
Wyee man Dylan Shaw was convicted of two counts of supplying a commercial quantity of drugs and dealing with the proceeds of crime in Gosford District Court.
A number of other drug offences, on a Form 1 certificate, were also taken into account.
A month before Shaw was to be sentenced for importing steroids, officers descended on Shaw and two of his alleged suppliers at a Sydney restaurant.
A search at his Wyee home the next day uncovered methylamphetamine (ice), $20,100 cash in a Foodworks bag in the lounge room, and 10.11g of cocaine hidden in the oven.
TAYLOR ANGELL
A Sydney woman who killed a young gun lawyer while driving high on ice will likely serve her full sentence after she was caught dealing ice months after she got out of prison.
Taylor Angell, 23, was jailed in 2015 for killing 26-year-old Cronulla man Marc Leabeater when she smashed into his motorbike in Sydney’s south in December 2014 and killed him.
She had been on parole for less than six months when police found her unconscious in a running car in Caringbah with 29.12g of methamphetamine worth $15,000, $1026.45 in cash and digital scales in a pale pink handbag at her feet.
Angell was sentenced at the Downing Centre District Court to 18 months’ imprisonment with 12 months’ non-parole for indictable drug supply.
