Killer ice driver Taylor Angell jailed over drug supply on parole

A Sydney woman has learned her fate for dealing $15,000 worth of meth only months after she was released from prison for running down and killing a young man while she was high on ice.

Taylor Angell, 23, has pleaded guilty to dealing drugs while she was on parole.

A Sydney woman who killed a young gun lawyer while driving high on ice will likely serve her full sentence after she was caught dealing ice months after she got out of prison.

Taylor Angell, 23, was jailed in 2015 for killing 26-year-old Cronulla man Marc Leabeater when she smashed into his motorbike in Sydney’s south in December 2014 and killed him.

She had been on parole for less than six months when police found her unconscious in a running car in Caringbah with 29.12g of methamphetamine, $1026.45 in cash and digital scales in a pale pink handbag at her feet.

Police estimate the drugs’ street value was $15,000.

Angell was sentenced at the Downing Centre District Court to 18 months’ imprisonment with 12 months’ non-parole for indictable drug supply.

She would have been eligible for release on January 11 next year but a State Parole Authority spokeswoman said they would seek to revoke her parole.

“On being informed of the final court result the State Parole Authority listed Angell for a revocation of parole hearing for 8 January, which is the first meeting date for 2020,” the spokeswoman said.

“Angell’s parole is likely to be revoked and it is expected she will serve the balance of her original sentence in custody which is set to expire on November 24, 2020.”

Angell was granted a 25 per cent sentence discount after she pleaded guilty at an early opportunity.

The Kirrawee woman was convicted of aggravated dangerous driving causing death in 2015 after she killed Mr Leabeater while she was driving high on ice on Taren Point Rd on December 29, 2014.

She served the minimum non-parole period of three years and three months out of the full five year and five month sentence.

Angell was subject to several parole conditions prior to her drug supply charge, including that she must be of good behaviour, not commit any offences and adapt to normal lawful community life.

Only three months after her initial release Angell had also pleaded guilty to using a stolen phone.
